to hospitalized veterans at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital. Some
of the ladies also assisted the Monterey Bay Veterans Organization
with their 13th Annual Wheelchair Rock Cod Fishing Derby. A donation
was made by the Unit towards the purchase by the Monterey Bay Veterans
Organization of a larger boat especially designed to accommodate
wheelchair veterans. The ladies have already signed up to assist
at the Salmon Derby in April 2004. Two of the members attended the VA POW/MIA
Day of Recognition at the VA Hospital. The busy women held
a garage sale to raise enough money to pay for a bus to transport
attending members to the All Women Veterans Luncheon in Sacramento
in November.

# 6 (PA) – 11 October, unit members participated in the NAVY DAY REGATTA'S
"Salute to America's Heroes" held on Philadelphia's famed Schuylkill River.
They sold military beanie bears to benefit the USO. Asizeable amount was
made for our troops. Many service men and women commented on how
much they appreciate the USO. Elizabeth Robinson, board member of the Delaware
County Veterans Museum, advises the Museum is scheduled to open early
in the spring of 2004. World War II memorabilia is needed to
make a museum display for the women. So, Women of the Sea Services
please make your donations or loan any of your treasures to be displayed
for the men, women and youth of America to see. For info contact: Elizabeth

where we honor women from all branches of the service. It's great to see
Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Air Force veterans get together
and tell of their experiences. The 20th anniversary of the forming of the
unit was celebrated in October. An afternoon at the Veteran's Hospital
in Lebanon was spent playing Bingo with the patients there. "Goodie"
boxes are still being sent to relatives of members who are serving in the
armed forces both here and abroad.
