ARKANSAS TRAVELERS
Unit # 1 (AR) – The 13th Annual Women Veterans Luncheon was held on 8  November. Unit # 1 and the Vet Center  now sponsor the luncheon, started by representatives of the WAC, Women  Marines and WAVES. The featured speaker was Command Sgt. Major Debbie
Collins of the Army National Guard. She is the first woman to hold this position  and only the fourth in the nation.

BAY AREA WAVES
Unit # 3 (CA) - The ladies stitched,  stuffed, and distributed pillows to hospitalized  veterans at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital. Some of the ladies also assisted  the Monterey Bay Veterans Organization with their 13th Annual Wheelchair Rock Cod Fishing Derby. A donation  was made by the Unit towards the purchase  by the Monterey Bay Veterans Organization of a larger boat especially  designed to accommodate wheelchair veterans. The ladies have already  signed up to assist at the Salmon Derby in April 2004. Two of the members attended the VA POW/MIA Day of  Recognition at the VA Hospital. The  busy women held a garage sale to raise  enough money to pay for a bus to transport  attending members to the All  Women Veterans Luncheon in Sacramento  in November.

ROADRUNNER
Unit # 4 (NM) - The WAVE birthday is an  annual grand party for the Roadrunners, and this year was no exception. The  Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta  honored veterans by inviting each organization  to send a representative aloft in mass with 750 hot air balloons. Unit  member, Mary Cox had a two-hour flight. In December, the unit will give comfort  items for the patients at the Veteran's Hospital. The items most in demand are  white socks. Unit members send warmest regards for a Happy Holiday season and best wishes for health and  success in 2004!

GATEWAY WAVES
Unit # 5 (MO) - Unit members  attended veteran  activities and participated in  tributes to women veterans in November. The unit’s representatives on this committee are  Doris Latta and Dorothy Showman.  Members also collect canned goods and  distribute them to homeless veterans in  St. Louis. Season greetings to one and  all from Gateway WAVES!

KEYSTONE WAVES
Unit # 6 (PA) – 11 October, unit members participated in the NAVY DAY REGATTA'S "Salute to America's Heroes" held on Philadelphia's famed Schuylkill River. They sold military beanie bears to benefit the USO. Asizeable amount was made for our troops. Many service men and women commented  on how much they appreciate the USO. Elizabeth Robinson, board member of the Delaware County Veterans  Museum, advises the Museum is scheduled to open early in the spring of  2004. World War II memorabilia is needed  to make a museum display for the women. So, Women of the Sea Services  please make your donations or loan any of your treasures to be displayed  for the men, women and youth of America to see. For info contact: Elizabeth  D. Robinson:

It's great to see Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Air Force veterans get together and tell of their experiences. The 20th anniversary of the forming of the unit was celebrated in October. An afternoon at the Veteran's Hospital in Lebanon was spent playing Bingo with  the patients there. "Goodie" boxes are still being sent to relatives of members who are serving in the armed forces both here and abroad.

GARDEN STATE WAVES
Unit # 16 (NJ) – Unit members attended  an awards luncheon in October sponsored by the New Jersey National Guard Museum. The occasion was to present

THREE RIVERS
Unit # 28 (PA) – Members met in July at  the Western Pennsylvania Veterans Home, where they hosted a picnic for the women veterans. The unit’s  immediate past president, Elaine McCallum, was the Federation’s Commander for the event.

GOLDEN WEST
Unit #31 (CA) - The first meeting of the  fall season was a potluck held at Leisure World, Seal Beach. In October, the charter lunch was held on Oct 11th. The All Women Veterans Luncheon was held on Nov. 1st. Plans are in progress for the holiday lunch and meeting in December.
