WAVES NATIONAL BYLAWS 2002 PROPOSED AMENDMENTS
BEGINNING ON THIS PAGE ARE THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO WN BYLAWS 2002. THESE CHANGES WILL BE VOTED ON BY WN MEMBERS AT THE CONVENTION IN PHILADELPHIA.
PRESENT WORDING OF BYLAWS 2002	PROPOSED AMENDMENT
#15. ARTICLE VIII, Section 3 Duties of the State Director The State Director shall: A. Assist in the organization of units within their state. B. Promote the purpose and objectives of WAVES National within their state.	Amend ARTICLE VIII, 3.A. and B. by substituting "her" for "their" as follows: A. Assist in the organization of units with her state. B. Promote the purpose and objectives of WAVES National within her state. Submitted by Jan Roy. Purpose: Correction of grammar.

#16. ARTICLE VIII. Section 5. Regional Representative. A Eligibility to Hold Office. A Regional Representative is a past or present State Director who has been elected by majority vote of past and present State Directors in the Region to represent members of the Region on the WN Board of Directors. In a Region that encompasses one state only, that State Director would also be Regional Representative.	Amend Article VIII, Section 5 by striking the second sentence of paragraph 5.A. and inserting a new second sentence to read as follows: A. Eligibility to Hold Office. A Regional Representative is a past or present State Director who ... A Regional Representative may concurrently hold the office of State Director for a state within her Region. Submitted by Patty Parks. Purpose: To accommodate the needs of smaller regions.


#17. ARTICLE X - BOARD OF DIRECTORS Section 2 - Duties. The Board of Directors shall: A. Conduct the business of WN between conventions and present recommendations for action to the members in convention.	Amend Article X. Section 2 by substituting new paragraph A. Paragraph A will read: A. Conduct the business of WN between conventions and present recommendations for ratification of the action taken to the members in convention. Submitted by Jan Roy. Reason: To better state action necessary by members at convention.

#18. ARTICLE X - Board of Directors, Section 2 F. Appoint Assistant Treasurer with consideration of Treasurer’s recommendation.	Amend Article X, Section 2, by substituting a new paragraph F. New paragraph F will read: F. Appoint Assistant Treasurer with consideration of recommendation of Treasurer, and it is determined that an assistant is needed by the Treasurer. Submitted by Jan Roy. Reason: This will better set forth how an Assistant Treasurer is appointed by the Board, and if one is needed by a Treasurer at the post convention Board meeting.
