The time is drawing near to gather together again – this time in the beautiful Northwest. This is what makes our conventions so special; we have the opportunity to not only see each other again but to explore different parts of our great nation. After what our country has experienced in 2001, it is even more important that we, as veterans, unite and support our country and its veteran organizations such as WAVES National. It is my hope that we will have a large number of our members attending our convention in Portland to enjoy what the Convention 2002 committee has planned for us. We have important business to conduct, but most of the time we will be out experiencing the beauty of the northwest and what it has to offer, as well as having fun together, seeing old friends and making new ones.
